Healing Alienation was created from a deeply personal journey. As a grandparent, I’ve watched one of my children — a kind and loving parent — become alienated from two teenage daughters. For over a decade, under a joint custody arrangement, those girls shared a warm and nurturing relationship with both sides of the family. Then, as they entered their teenage years, everything changed. The shift was sudden — as if a light switch had been flipped.

Trying to understand what had happened led us down a path of confronting truths few families are prepared for. Through research and the support of online communities, we came to recognize the painful dynamics of parental alienation — an invisible form of psychological manipulation that tears families apart and leaves lasting scars on parents, children, and grandparents alike.

Healing Alienation is an attempt to gather what’s scattered — to bring together the countless valuable articles, podcasts, books, legal insights, and recovery stories that exist on the internet — into one supportive, accessible space. This website is meant as a portal of understanding and hope for anyone suffering from parental alienation.
